Juniper JNCIA exam cram and study notes.

1. Juniper JUNOS software architecture

The Juniper JUNOS software architecture is a modular and scalable architecture that provides a high-performance, secure, and flexible platform for building and operating network devices such as routers and switches.

The JUNOS software architecture consists of several main components, including the following:

  1. 1. Kernel: The JUNOS kernel is the core of the operating system and provides low-level services such as process and memory management, device management, and network stack support.

  2. 2. Routing Engine (RE): The Routing Engine is responsible for the control plane functions of the JUNOS software, including routing protocol processing, firewall filtering, policy enforcement, and other control-plane functions.

  3. 3. Forwarding Engine (FE): The Forwarding Engine is responsible for the data plane functions of the JUNOS software, including packet forwarding, Quality of Service (QoS), and other data-plane functions.

Juniper Netsim with Examsim for JNCIA Update 2

Certexams.com, leading network simulators developer, revised Juniper Netsim with Examsim for JNCIA recently. The update includes addition of labs and commands to the existing database. The practice tests consist of 100s of questions with flash cards. The exam engine, a world class software, offers timed test with MCQs and simulation type questions. Features offered by the software include Learn and Exam modes, Day/Night screens, font adjustment, questions bookmarking, analytics, and others.

Juniper Exam Sim offers the practice tests for candidates preparing for final exam. The software doesn't include the Netsim. This is useful for candidates already having sufficient hands-on experience with Juniper JUNOS networking commands. Alternatively, one may get the JNCIA practice tests and Juniper JUNOS Netsim products. Juniper JUNOS network simulator provides virtual environment where in one can practice Juniper labs in a virtual environment. No physical equipment is required for practicing the labs. The software also allows you to design and simulate different lab scenarios, only limited by the commands available and the virtual devices and/or connections.

About Certexams.com: The website, a pioneer in the area of online tests and netsims, offers exam sims and netsims for Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Comptia A+, Network+, Security+, Jun iper JUNOS, and others. The certexams blog provides up to date information on various certs like CCNA.

Juniper Certification Tracks

Juniper Systems  certification track may be broadly divided into 4 levels. These are Associate, Specialist, Professional, and Expert levels. The technical areas are divided into 3 sections. These are Enterprise - Routing and Switching, Junos Security, and Service Provider - Routing and Switching. The following are the available certification tracks in detail:

Level                                        Track
Enterprise R&S              Security             Service Provider R&S
JNCIA           JNCIA-Junos                 JNCIA-Junos     JNCIA-Junos
JNCIS           JNCIS-ENT                   JNCIS-SEC        JNCIS-SP
JNCIP           JNCIP-ENT                   JNCIP-SEC        JNCIP-SP
JNCIE           JNCIE-ENT                  JNCIE-SEC        JNCIE-SP

The various abbreviations are

JNCIA: Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate
JNCIS: Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist
JNCIP: Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional
JNICE: Juniper Networks Certified Internet Expert

JNCIA: Passing JNCIA certification ensures that you have basic knowledge of how subnets work, Juniper routers and switches, and configuring Juniper networks in small network environment. It is entry level certification and required for all other advanced tracks as the foundation exam.

JNCIS: The JNCIS builds on JNCIA, and requires greater understanding of Internet routing and switching technologies. The exam objectives cover several product specific details and it prepares the candidate to be able to provide professional services on Juniper networks. JNCIS exam is a essential requirement for attempting the JNCIP-level exam.

The streams that are available for JNCIS are:
JNCIS-ENT             Enterprise
JNCIS-SEC              Security
JNCIS-SP                 Service Provider

Among the streams above, Security JNCIS (SEC) is considered a little tough, and requires knowledge about securing various networking devices, both theory and practice.

JNCIP: The JNCP exam is the next level, and regarded highly by the industry. You will be able to configure and troubleshoot common networking scenarios using Juniper networking devices, such as routers, switches, and hubs. JNCIP exam is necessary for attempting the JNCIE-level lab exam.

JNCIE: The JNCIE certification is the most valuable of the Juniper track of exams. As the name implies, it is expert level cert, where you need to attend a lab exam. JNCIE candidate is expected to offer solutions to complex networking problems using Juniper networking devices in enterprise environment.
